If I were to Delete?

If I were to delete? What would I have to do? Do i have to reprogram the truck? What do I need to look out for?

You have to have a Spartan or h&s if you remove your dpf or the truck won't even run.

I would only trust H&S or Spartan though...

Yes, as others have said, you MUST have off-road (DPF delete) capable tuning in order to remove the DPF/UREA systems from the truck. If you find an H&S (regarded as the best by many) it's going to cost you upwards of $1000. If you choose the H&S route, make SURE the tuner is a Race tuner (delete capable) and make ABSOLUTELY sure the tuner has been properly removed, "unlocked" from the previous vehicle. If you buy one locked, you've got a pretty paperweight. Spartan also sells a tuner for the 6.7 Ford, they run around $1400 or so and you can still source them pretty easily new.

I've never run a Spartan, but love my H&S. The truck is a totally different beast. I ran the no power/no trans tuning for the past year. Last week I changed to Mild/trans tuning at the advice of my FORD service manager. Yes, you heard that correct. It's a night and day difference and I'm getting better MPG with this tune. The firmer shifts and power remind me of my 6.4. Still not as quick, but soooooooooooooooo much better than stock.

You will also need to change your exhaust. I run the FLOPRO 5" turbo back and love it. I run no muffler and there isn't any drone. The truck gets a lot of looks though (because of the whoosh sound). You also get a lot of turbo whistle. (I can only hear it when my windows are down.)

What if you just delete the EGR? Does that require a flash and what does that cost?

You need a tuner to delete the EGR, DEF, DPF, ect...

Plus if you only deleted the EGR and not the DPF, you would be in regeneration ALOT!

I am ready to tune my 6.7. I sold my 6.4 which was Spartan tuned, and I love that truck! I have heard about the H&S, but wondering if there is any real difference between Spartan and H&S? I had great luck and excellent support from Spartan, so I am leaning toward them, but am not opposed to trying H&S. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The thing i like most about the H&S is the shift on the fly. It's nice to be able to switch tunes with the touch of a button. I sold my 6.4 last week and kept my Minimaxx. I've read a lot of posts about turbos, etc. going bad so I've been leary of hooking it up to my new 6.7. My 6.4 was awesome once tuned and deleted but I'm scared to wreck my new truck.
