Things To Come...

So I'm pulling out of my driveway and on my dash pops up "diesel exhaust fluid fault." I call my dealership and they say oh just add fluid. I say it has 1200 miles in it and its saying the fluids we is ok. The guy says well usely when u get the 50 mile reduced speed to 50 warning its because you're low on fluid. I said I know, but listen its saying there is a FAULT. In the end he says bring it in and they'll look at. I get to my daughters game and shut her down. Get done start back up and the fault is now gone? So I'm wondering if it was a fluke or is there something really wrong. My service department at my dealership are idiots and I really hate having to go there. Lol

This was one of the main deciding factors for me to delete. I had the fault message the first time at around 800 miles. When I called the dealer about it they said add some DEF, I said it only has 800 miles on it and it says its OK. I get the, "Oh, well, just bring it in and we will look at it." They obviously had no idea what I/they were talking about. It ended up clearing itself before it actually limited my speed. This same thing occurred 3 times, each time clearing itself with about 20 or so miles left before it clocked out. I am in the military and when we go on leave the wife and kids all pile in the truck to go home. It really made me think about this happening on the way home and stranding me and the family. That was all it took for me to rip it all out of there. I only wish I would have deleted the first time at the 800 mile mark.

Yea I want to delete everything, but alas I can't. Need to keep it stock for a bit, an agreement I made with the wife so I could get it. I went crazy building my 6.0 truck. I found every time I finished one thing I was off researching something else to do. I figure if I don't start I want have that problem this time, lol.

Thumbs up

The dealer ( or a knowledgeable one ) will reflash the computer and the issue will go away. It's a known issue and Ford is aware of the problem and fix.

The dealership I called is not the dealership I bought the truck from. I get my first service free at that one, so when I take her in I plan on letting them look at it. The dealership I called is known to be knuckleheads...
