Im being told that i am the first 6.7 to have this problem.....Opinions?

So just to bring ya'll up to speed for the past few weeks to a month or so i have been having this issue with the truck jerking while easing into the throttle ind you its very faint , pretty much babying it when its cold, so i read the thread about the 2011 TSB update or what ever, so i took the truck it for the TSB and my build date was after the fact and it didn't apply to me, So while they were doing the inspection to see what it could be they told me that the trans pump failed and when i asked how it happened or why it would have failed, they didnt no why, and when i asked when it should be done their master tech told me that he had no idea "this is the first one they have ever seen, fail and first to ever replace" .......... how the heck is that possible, this is a major ford dealer in Chicago Illinois....... Any thoughts thanks alot guys.

...Maybe it is just as simple as you stated??? The 6R140 is a fairly new transmission-and a durable one. I'd imagine the failure rate is quite low. Its entirely possible the techs have not seen a trans pump failure yet. I guess I don't understand the problem. They are going to fix it, right???

Mine has been making a humming noise. Took it in twice before the figured out it was the teams pump. They had seen 1 other at my dealership.

Week to order it and not sure how long to install.

It's a 13 with 7,000 on it.

Had an 11 with 125,000 and not one issue. Was planning on tuning this truck soon but a bit worried that there might be some more demons hiding in this one.

not sure if this is the same, buddy of mine has a 2012 king ranch 1 ton only 5 months old and about 60,000 miles now. but at 3 months old with 18,xxx miles the tranny blew apart internally. ford engineers came out and investigate. not sure and they pretty much said is impossible. but installed a brand new one and extended the warranty to 118,000 miles on tranny is what he told me.

Like already stated, it is entirely possible your pump is the first one they've seen fail. As long as they're replacing it under warranty I don't see what the problem is

I have heard of solinoid valves failing in the early '11s but this is the first (and second) pump I have ever heard of.
