11 f250 12 f250 rear end ?

Ok my company truck is a job one 11 f250 with 3.55 locking rear end and has a aluminum rear end differential cover like a 6.4. Now my 12 f250 has the same rear end and locking as well but has a just a regular steal differential cover. Is there something more to this?
