Front hub question

Hi, guys new to Ford and this manual/automatic hubs. Lot of time I am towing my trailer to the sand and need 4x4 for it, should I just leave hubs in auto position or turn them to lock position ? Somehow don't understand when those two setting actually should be use ....sorry if dumb question.

The manual "Lock" position is just an override for the "Auto" position, so that if for some reason the hubs don't lock in when you shift into 4wd you can manually lock them in.

Also if you know that you will be going somewhere that you will be shifting in and out of 4wd often then it is best to just manually lock them in so that you don't have the normal delay that it takes for them to lock in automatically.

So if I were you, I would lock them in manually before you hit the sand and just leave them that way until you are on the road heading home!
