Question Do I need an Oil Change At 300 miles?

Picking up a new 2012 KR on Wednesday! Has been on the lot for 14 months and has a little over 300 miles on it, probably lots of short test drives.

My Porsche mechanic says dealer should change the oil and filter as it probably never got hot enough and probably has moisture and impurities in it, and should put a fuel conditioner in it as well.

The deal was too good to pass up on a new 2012. Can anybody chime in on this? Anything else I should address before I take delivery?

I would just so I'd have a starting point in keeping track of the oil/filter changes. But that's me.

yes

have them change the oil, fuel conditioner I dont know, Have them wash and clean before signing, then walk the exterior like you are personally washing or waxing it, same on interior, if this is your servicing dealer ask to be introduced to your service adviser, get pricing on services, oil changes can vary $ 60 or more, establish relationships with people before signing, personal responsibility is what you want, I support dealers and we need them, just be the educated guy.... or girl,...oh and lets see pics... of the porsche

Change the oil. Oil should be changed at OEM intervals or every year due to the development of acids in the oil over time.

Ok, so my new 2011 arrived today and it is simply awesome!! Is the oil as easy to change in this as it was in my 08? Where is the oil filter, on top or somewhere else, and is it the same filter as the 6.4L?

+1 Change the oil, every 12 months regardless of mileage.
