2 small issues with my 250

All,

I purchased a used 2012 F250 several months ago, virtually no miles, I love the truck. there are two small things bugging me.

The card that is supposed to have the door lock code on it was not with the vehicle. I called the dealer and they said they would have to hook it up to the computer to get the master code so that I could put in my own code. of course they would charge me for that. Does anyone know if that is really true, or is there some other way to get the master code for the door locks?

the other problem is this truck has the back up sensors that beep when you are getting close to something. It works fine on flat concrete or pavement, but when you get on to a stone driveway or anything that is not perfectly flat, it beeps all the time. My 08' had them and did not do this. Dealer is not aware of any adjustments that can be made to this. It is unfortunate, but it makes that system pretty much useless.

Any ideas on the above issues would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help

My back up sensors do the same thing. Pulling out of my driveway is a very slight downhill and as soon as the rear drops even the tiniest bit the thing starts blaring.

The code is listed on the door or alarm module it's under the dash. I'm not sure on its location.

Horsemover - that would be awesome if there was an adjustment. even on level terrain, it goes off if the surface that I am on is not smooth. Let me know.

VLXJIM - I read that somewhere also but I have looked under the dash and If I recall correctly I saw multiple modules and many numbers. Does anyone have any more specifics on where the module is and what numbers?

Appreciate all the help.

Re: 2 small issues with my 250

Bought mine used and the master code was missing too. Found it behind the passenger side kick panel. I want to say it's a 5-6 digit code.

I really don't think you should be charged to get the code for the door. It does not seem right.

Keyless Entry Factory Code Displays!

I believe you can get read the factory set keyless entry code right in your driveway, for FREE! The procedure is on page 74 of the Owners Manual.

Take both of your keys to the truck. Place a key in the "ignition" and turn it to on, no need to start the truck. Then back to off. Now place the second key in the ignition and turn it to on, and back off.

Watch your information display between the gauges. The code will display for a few seconds after any other warnings are displayed.

Neat!
