buying a 12 f350?? been sitting on lot?
Been reading and researching for 3 months. Never owned a diesel before, and really dont need one, but I want one for possible future towing.
Found a truck within 150 miles of home. Its a 12 f350 lariat loaded with everything accept heated rear seats, 20" wheels and two tone. They are willing to take 11695 off sticker for this truck. Listed mid 63's. My questions are, first, this truck has been sitting on the lot for 6 months now. Should I be questioning anything about this 6.7 after sitting for so long???????? Secondly, Im pretty certain, they wont budge another inch on the pricing, but should I be expecting them to? For an extra grand, it appears I could fly to Texas and pick up a loaded 13. What would you do?? By the way, Houston is 1300 miles from me. If this dealership was, say, 13 off of the 2012 list, I would be all over it. I know they wont get there though. Thanks in advance for your replies. Gary |

I would look around at prices of other 12s, I just picked up a 12 in December and they had 2 King Ranches for 63K both 6.7s.
They had one Lariat going for 52K, I chose the XLT with a western package for under 50K |

My local dealership is doing 13k off '12s...

$12-13K off 2012s is typical...I'd say they're keeping $1000 of their holdback from you...that's why most Texas buyers are stealing these trucks...the dealers here seem readily willing to give up their holdbacks to get the deal done.
Not sure what problems you may face by having a rig that was sitting for 6 months. But if you have the time, I'm always a fan of getting the newer model year if it makes sense financially. Even if the deal ends up being equal after spending the extra money on travel, at least you have a '13 instead of a '12 (and all of the updates that entails). Good luck either way, let us know what you get! |

Id go with the '13.I picked up my '12 last August, Tuxedo Black, F350 FX4 CC PSD Loaded except Nav and Sunroof, for $47k. Also, got windows Tinted, 100K mile Bumper to bumper warranty, 20 Gallons of DEF included.
But, that '12 has been sitting a while, if he wants to sell it, he will bend over backwards. JMHO |

Welcome Aboard! If it was me I would skip it and get a Fresh 2013! Diesels aren't suppose to sit, and think of the test drives already, God on knows what the Lookers have done to this truck. Good luck and keep us posted. |

Local dealers in Southern CA are advertising $15k off MSRP. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 2012. I would think if you made a stink about getting fluids freshened it wouldn't be a hassle.

For $1k difference, I would definitely get the '13. New dash section with the screen. Some of the nonsense stuff like the heated seats running with the remote start, etc.
