Remote start?

Quick question for you guys. Is there a way to get the defrost or heat to come on when you use the remote start feature? What about the seat warmers, can they be programmed to come on with the remote start?

Thanks

If you have auto climate control there is a temperature threshold that has to be met before the defrost ans seat heaters come on, but they do come on. The lights for the seat heater dont light up like they did on my GMC when remote started but they are on.

I have the exact truck as you, just an 11. From what i have seen, if it's cold enough to be auto high-idling (Usually when it's 20* F or below) My heated seats and defrost come on automatically. No way to manually set them to come on, that I know of.

In the summer time, the A/C kicks on automatically too, when it's hot enough.

Remote start has automatic climate control settings based on ambient temps. Nothing lights up when this is happening. As soon as you turn the key on, your settings from the last time you drove become active again. In your manual it does a decent job explaining this...I was curious too. I'm sure you could do some creative wiring with your truck and some PAC TR7 or similar relay/timer/pulsers if you really want to ensure seats are on heat or cool every time you remote start. That, or figure out what the temp parameters are...then tell us so we all know!

Ford is all over the place with this... some do, some dont. Some have options to turn stuff on and off, some dont:

The image below is from my 2011 owner's manual. And, I can confirm that the system does indeed operate this way. Don't expect the seats to be scorching hot though. The amount of heat they generate is meant to work in conjunction with your semi warm butt against the seat. After a 10 minute remote start I notice the seats being cold instead of ice cold which is an improvement.
