DEF apparently has a shelf life. It can apparently get out of date and degrade/deteriorate. There is a fancy little meter that tests DEF to make sure its good...

I was using blue DEF too. I had the problems with my DEF pump here Snowstorm = Check Engine Light? , and now I am skeptical to use blue again...

BIG, I read the snowstorm thread, but, I feel like there was more to your problem than the Blue DEF. With all the work you had done, it seems that the problem was fixed somewhere in all that mess...not sure where though.

I am glad you haven't had any further DEF probs.

PS- I used to live in Odgen and Bountiful...I love it there!

We always ran the valvoline DEF but recently switched to selling fleetrite stuff navistar came out with since all the fuss went down and SCR is a obvious future there. I can get the fleetrite stuff for 8 bucks for a 2.5gal container
