Chest Toolbox with a Roll-n-Lock
My dad just picked up a 2012 Superduty King Ranch 8' bed. He wants to do a chest box with some sort of Roll-n-Lock cover. Does anyone have a setup like this? truck will be used to pull a boat and a fifth wheel and he wants to be able to lock up stuff in the bed, but also needs a tool box. He doesnt want to have to slide his toolbox bck 14" from the front of the bed and lose all the space. Does anyone make a good come/setup for a in bed tool box with one of these covers. cant be a hard cover because of the fifth wheel.
thanks |

Well yes I have that setup kind of LOL mine is a short bed and I don't need a 5th wheel hitch but I think this setup may work for him
I converted the weather guard chest to an electrical solenoid and it opens with a button on the remote then I mounted the can for the roll and lock flush to the chest ( I access the chest so much I choose not to cover it with the roll and lock) then I cut down the R&L bed rails to fit now I bought my R&L used and it was for a Long Bed ,, but I knew I was modifying and for 200 bucks I couldn't be picky LOL the can for the long bed is bigger than the shortbed so If He does this I think He could actually save room by using a short cover ,, I also have the chest slid back enough to have about 3 inches between the bed and box for quick stuff like garbage or wet clothes etc and I have drop in ladder racks so that worked out well for the front mount well Last edited by ZMANN; 01-10-2013 at 09:32 AM. |
