Need Help ASAP! Titan Tank install gone Wrong
Hey Guys.
Installed a 65 Gal Titan Tank the other day. I Finally got a chance to fill her up all the way.. well as much as i could. My Level sensor is not functioning and I was only able to put in a total of 160 Liters when it should have been right around 246L. My question is this. I need to syphon my tank now. Is there anything preventing me from doing that or will a 1/2 hose work?? Thanx. Please just answer the question as im out in the city and need to purchase the hose and a 55gal drum. |

Did you have your tank size reprogrammed by your ford dealer?

Doonz,
There are no restrictions or blockers in the filler hose. so a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch siphon hose would work fine. There are internal baffles in the Titan. You may find the siphon goes dry, wait a few minutes, and you can get another 5 gallons out, do again etc until all you draw is air. Before you think it is the fuel sensor, you might think about a crimped vent hose during the install. That would mean there is fuel in the tank, but your pump can't pump it without caving the tank in. It would more likely mean that you cannot fill the tank completely because the various baffle areas are not being vented back to the filler tube and air pockets are in the top of each baffle area. I suspect that this is your problem. Definately get some of the fuel out, but it handles pretty easily with a floor jack with 20 gallons in it, so ong as you aren't taking it all the way out - just droppin it a bit to reroute the vet hoses etc. Good luck. Hey Guys,
THanx for the replies. Siphoning is pretty much impossible . Has to do with the turn into the tank on the filler hose. Anyhow the problem was the float was touching the side of the tank. The instructions were very misleading. instead of keying it the way the oem tank was just follow the picture for the fuel sender unit and you will be good. As for only 160L going into the tank. LMFAO apparently the gas station's machine needs a recal. We pulled 230 some liters out of the tank with 28L being used on the trip computer. All is good now |
