Magnuson-Moss & Warranty
Does adding the tuner or dpf delete or whatever performance-wise AUTOMATICALLY void your warranty in it's entirety with Ford or what?
I was under the impression the Magnuson-Moss Act specifically protects the consumer as it relates to aftermarket parts. The dealer cannot just say the warranty item is not covered because of an aftermarket item. It puts the burden of proof on the dealership to prove that the aftermarket item caused the problem. I understand that a warranty would be void if the tuner is responsible for the specific damage, but everyone here keeps sayings your warranty will be voided (no matter what) the second you put the tuner/dpf delete on. Love to hear some real-life experience from some members who have had warranty problems with tuners installed: - Did the dealer cover it? - Did you return truck to stock before taking to dealer for a warranty issue? - If returned to stock prior to going into dealer, can the dealer tell a tuner was previously installed if they scan the truck? Thx, Rusty |

The part that 99.9999999% of people don't get is that you need $$$ to litigate the MM act..
The burder is not on the dealership. It's you vs. Ford Motor Company, and not vice versa. Ford will simply outspend you and bury you in paperwork, and ofcourse since it is you bringing on the suit, you pay for your lawyer to answer each motion, and the court stenographer. By the time is get's to court in 2019, you'll have more invested in your lawyer than in the truck. |

^^ exactly...but it would be cool if we could get a list of mod-friendly dealers started...anyone in SE Texas / Houston know first-hand of a good dealer? I'd love to tune but don't have the nerve...in case they can see it & void my warranty even after I return it to stock.
