So I'm on vacation down in Destin, FL and its my last day here. Load up the Jetski, start the truck and I am hearing this very loud whirring noise. It sounded like a power steering pump. I drive my truck around the condo parking lot with everyone looking at my truck like wtf and the noise didn't stop. So I pop the hood check everything out it's so loud it could be coming from anywhere. I noticed how easy it was to move the intercooler piping around, so I'm thinking boost leak. Well its on the ends where it's just got the compression rings with no way to tighten. Now I'm getting a bit pissed off, just thinking about having to go to the dealer being as I'm tuned and deleted and the wife is trying to play detective asking me stupid questions like, do you have a loose valve???? LOL.
So I called the local dealership and ask if they can fit me in asap as I have to return to St. Louis tomorrow and they reluctantly agree. I stop on my way to get diesel and start the truck up and the noise is gone! I was down to about 30 till empty, which I try not to get that low ever, but I needed to drive to other end of town to get cheap diesel.
Anyone else ever experience this? Had me trippin for a little bit.
