Door Code

I just purchased an '11 F-250 KR and absolutely love it. The truck has 24,000 miles and came with the owners manuals and the window sticker...the only thing i cant find is the door code to get it unlocked. Any suggestions on how to get the code without having to take it to the dealer?

There should be a card about the size of a business card that has the door code on it along with instructions on how to create your own code. It should be with your owners manual.

I had to take mine to the dealer. Once they got it for me I wrote it down in the owners manual.

How much did they charge you at the dealer? Did they just plug it up to a computer to get the code?

If it's the dealer you purchased the truck from, there shouldn't be a charge. They should have it in the file for your purchase of the truck. But that card should be around in the truck or in the envelope your manual came in.

And by the way, even if you change the code on the door, the original code still works so you can forget your new code and Ford can still get your original code, which lets you then wipe any additional codes you've added as well as any options, and go back to the default. It also lets you turn off the key pad entirely.

They didn't charge anything. It was at the dealer where I purchased the truck.

Remove the passenger side kick panel plastic.
You'll see a big black box that's held on by two small bolts.
Remove the two bolts and pull back the black box as far as you can.
On the back side of the black box there are two stickers.
Now it's hard to see but there is a 5 digit number on one of the two stickers and it'll be your door code.
