Dumb Question

As my old instructor told me, there is no such thing as a dumb question, just dumb mistakes. With that, I am just asking if anyone can tell me how the plastic panel under the steering column comes off? I tried pushing, pulling, sliding and it is solid as a rock. My old 2000 F-250 just had four nice convenient 1/4 turn slotted buttons that you could easily remove with just a thumbnail. With my luck, if I keep jerking on that panel, something is going to go "bang" and plastic pieces will go flying across the cab.

Thanks

My original post was totally unrelated and in the wrong thread. Sorry.

FROM THE WORKSHOP MANUAL:

Remove the steering column opening trim panel.
Pull the steering column opening trim panel rearward to release the steering column opening trim panel retaining clips.

You wouldn't happen to be an auto-thief, would you?
