Need 12V Power

Greetings Guys. I have a 2012 F-350 Crew cab 6.7 w/o uplifter switches.
I am going to need to run power to an auxilliary diesel fuel pump and was wondering if anyone here knows of a good place under the hood to get the power. I can always tap directly into the positive connection at the battery, but I would prefer to connect at a power box. Just looking for some tips on how to go about the connection.

Thanks

I take it you dont want to add upfitters? They are an easy add on, and fairly cheap.

Not familiar with the upfitters. Can you tell me what they are and where I can get them?

Thanks blackcoud2k

The uupfitter switches are the 4 stock switches that you can get from ford. The kit can be bought on ebay or tascaparts.com for $125 give or take if I remember correctly. Makes hooking everything up very easy.

Installing the switches isn't very complicated but things can get a little tight up under the dash with the way everything is packed in there - just takes a little while (esp if you have a center console) if wiring isn't your strong point. Of course I have this 20 something year old kid who won't move out of the house and who wires police cars for a living so I enlisted some help under threats of putting a padlock on the fridge should he say no... is this cheating? Ha.

Now firing up the air pump is easy. and they look good too..

It is a plug and play setup. The wireing harness is under your dash already. All you have to do is plug the switches in. Once you have done that and mounted the fuse box, you run a wire from the lead on what ever switch you want to use, to the lead on the firewall. This will power the pass through wires on the firewall allowing you to hook up your pump.
