Overall opinions on the 6.7?

Hey guys my dad is going to be looking into a new Super duty in the next year or so and me being a 7.3 owner i havent the slightest about your guys' newfangled engines and i just wanna know what you guys think about it, Pros, Cons, Everything, inside and out.

Any input would be useful

Same here. I came from a 7.3 and the power difference is simply unbelievable. Decent mileage, no issues(only 10,000 miles). The ONLY reason I'd ever consider a tune is for the sake of added milage. This truck makes plenty enough power to drag around any trailer I'll ever hook up too. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and hope to get many years or reliable service out of it.

10,000 miles. No issues. Love the power and mpgs. Luxurious and rugged at the same time. I had owned tundras (3) and this is a major step up. My Dad has two F450s (7.3s) and loves the power and smoothness of mine.

Love mine too. Just got it but I have had a 7.3, two 6.0's, and a 6.4.

I purchased my 2012 F350 6.7 in September and currently have 2,500 miles. I owned a 1997 F350 7.3 since new for 15 years and loved the 7.3. I couldn't have asked for more out of the 180,000 I put on that 97, but after power upgrades of Exhaust, Air, and Chip it just lacked the gitty up to pull my 12,000 # 5th wheel that I expected to see. So far my new truck has exceeded my expectations currently averaging 18.1 mpg combo driving town and highway with 3.55 gears. The ride is far superior to my 97, quite to talk to someone while standing outside the truck with the engine running, or to hear the radio without cranking it up over the engine noise, granted the 7.3's sound like a tin can with rocks in it and the 6.7 has awesome power. 50 grand investment and I can only hope the 6.7 exceeds the satisfaction that I had from my 7.3. Knowing that maintenance is critical for longevity the same as I serviced my 7.3. I followed the 6.7 threads for a year before I bought my 2012 and after driving the GMC and Dodge and following those forums as well I went with the 6.7. Loyal Ford Truck owner since 1976.
