10w-30 oil question

This may have been asked here before but the guys at my oil change place put motorcraft 10w-30 in my 6.7 the other day and I'm a little nervous if it is right oil or not. It didn't say super duty on the jug anywhere and it wasn't cj-4 either but the guys there told me this was oil they were putting in 6.7s coming through there. I think they even put 15 qts but am not sure and I park on side of street where truck is leaning so I don't get accurate check on dipstick. Isn't it supposed to use 13?

If you have your owners manual, I'd check that. If it were my truck, I would.be doing it by the book or not at all.... regardless of what the oil change shop says.

Yeah I think so too. May drain it tmrw and do it myself. See if oreillys has filter and oil I need. Manual says 13 qts so I'm afraid they overfilled it too

If you're in doubt then change it and use the correct oil stated in your owners manual. Better waste the oil than ruin your engine.

Rotella T-5 10-30 semi synthetic. Dealer should have used a CJ-4 oil per the owners manual.

My owners manual says 13, but it's closer to 13.5 or 14 to get it to "full"

I use a 15w40 but I think the book says 10w30. It also shows a few grades/weights. As long as it's for diesels [ cj4 i think ] then all is good.
I also changed mine the other day and found I overfilled. After filling I ran it a few minutes to circulate etc and checked the dipstick to find it reading proper. In the morning after everthing had settled I found I had about 3/4 quart too much. The nice thing about the oil drain plug on these is that it is easy to drain some out with no mess.
