How does my deal compare
Was just curious how this deal compares.
Agonized over this for far too long (over a year!) but ended up a total of 12k off a sticker of 58.8k. 1500 under xplan price, 4k of ford rebates, 750 coupon from brocure and 1000 rebate for ranger owner loyalty. I had to make some concessions on the setup (no backup mirror/heated seats and had 20" chromed cast al wheels). But got color...white plat two tone and black interior. thought about waiting and ordering '13, but not sure I would have gotten this price. good finance too....1.9% for 72m at our cu.' curious how this compares. |

That sounds like a good deal. To me it's all about the final number. I don't care if they give me a 1000 off the sticker. They will have to make it up on my trade in.
I just bought mine last week and they gave me about 10 g off but they made up for it on the trade in. Have fun with the new truck. I smile everytime I get behind the wheel. Sent from my iPhone using AG Free |

When buying a truck, there should be no negotiating if you do some homework.
Here are a few questions you have to answer before you can really get down to the nuts and bolts.. Buying clean: 1. What's invoice price? 2. Rebates? 3. ..and most important and hardest fact to find out, what factory to dealer incentives are there in place that you do not know about. When trading: 1. What is current auction price for my trade. 2. What is current auction price for my trade. Same thing, but twice as important. Unless your truck is a pristine retail piece for them, your dealer will be loading it to auction off. Your dealer will definitely check auction prices before making you a trade offer. If they decide to stick a lot of extra money in your trade, it's due to number 3 from above. At year end, dealerships are usually allowed more internal incentive to make a deal, so you will get more money in trade on a 12' than you would on a 13' right now. So a normal deal barometer is invoice price, minus rebates and incentives, and minus your local auctions "comp" for your trade in. Remember, every dealer will get a holdback check from Ford for 3% of your dealer cost. So if a dealer sells you a truck at an invoice of 60K, they still profit $1,800.00. On an order, they may be willing to give up some of that cash also. Backwater, I think do did just fine. Last edited by George C; 10-13-2012 at 06:20 AM. |

$12K off is a good deal. You should feel good about it.

You did very well assuming you got a fair trade in price if you had one.
I got $12,500 off on mine 2 weeks ago, but I get employee Z plan pricing and my interest rate was higher (4.9%). It would have been $11,500 off if I financed through my credit union. |
