6.4 Delete Performance

If I get the Spartan system, delete the DPF, get a new exhaust, intercooler, air filter, will my truck perform better while towing? The truck is stock now, and I get 12 MPG. It tows like a dog and I was wondering if it will tow better with the upgrades. I was also wondering what to expect in MPG increase.

Someone will probably tell you that they get 5 MPG gains. The real benefit of doing all this stuff is for prevention for future problems.

I gained about 2. Wouldn't keep your hopes up for much more. It's hard to believe what people claim over the computer. If you go by what your dash says your getting, you may gain 10mpg lol

I was thinking to go with spartan, egr/egr cooler removal and straight pipe but I'm hesitant to do it because my skills as mechanic is about 5/10, just opening the hood and see all those stuff in the engine give me nightmares. So I'm not confident to do it myself alone, maybe someday if someone helps me I'll do it.

My question would be...tows like a dog?

I'm on my 4th SD...'99, '01, '08, and now the '11...and this 6.7 is a tow beast!!

What gears do you have?

Well, My 2008 f-450 (4.88 axle) covers all my needs, runs good and strong (after ford tech, repaired all the bugs of course) I also own a f-250 3.73 axle (100% bone stock) and she runs like a champ too. After all of these years of owning these trucks I've learned (the hard way) that baby it and runs like a granpa is the worst thing to do to a diesel. I'm glad you like your 6.7L.

My question is why did you post this in the 6.7 forum? And why did you not search the 6.4 forum before posting anything?
