Stiff competition from Dodge Cummins

First Look: 2013 Ram 2500/3500 HD - PickupTrucks.com News

Ford, IMO, is still king of the road, but looks like Dodge is going to have bragging rights with 850 torque, at least for 2013. Impressive they went with the Aisin tranny.

C'mon Ford, where is 875 or 900

Having owned trucks from all of the big 3, I dont care how much Horsepower and Torque the Cummins makes, as long as they keep putting it in the Dodge POS chassis and body, I will never buy one.

My last Dodge was rattling as I pulled it off the lot.

I am happiest with the Ford truck. Picking up a new 6.7 this week.

This is something my boss told me about dodge trucks. "The cummins is a million dollar motor in a five dollar truck". Lol and i agree

You have heard of Fummins right? I have neverheard of anyone putting a stroker or dirtymax in a different brand of truck. Probably a reason for that.

I always thought the f-650, had the best of everything: Cummins, Allison tranny, and a ford chassis. At some point In Time you could get a Cat diesel too.

Well, that was then, and this is now.

The new Ram, aside from the overall Mopar lines is a very impressive upgrade. Competition like this makes better trucks for everyone.

Exactly, I mean it looks like dodge really stepped up with beefier frame, axles, upgraded interior and healthy power increase. I knew that 6.7 cummins had much more power in, but that 68re dodge tranny was the limiting factor. Now they have the Aisin, 385/850 torque. It will be interesting to see in upcoming months what the GCWR and Trailer weight tow capabilities.

Ford has always made a solid and sturdy framed truck, and stout trannies too. But dodge may just have narrowed that gap with the 2013, only time will tell.

I would buy a dodge over a Chevy dura max any day...

But for generations my family has been all pro ford, and I'm no different, just looks like ford will loose sales to dodge with this 2013 dodge cummins.

I think the Dodge hands down looks better than any other truck out there. My next truck will most likely be a dodge. I'm just ready to try something different and I love the way they look.

Still like the idea that Ford Superduty is built in USA. Dodge Ram built in Mexico.

I've owned three Dodges and now a Superduty built in America with no bailouts!!!

Will be looking very serious at buying a new Dodge when they come out. Havent been interested in the past due to their previous view of DEF, the mileage penalty and maintenance penalty of the current Cummins 6.7L.... But, introduce DEF, 15K mile O/C intervals, Aisin, the rumor of having 2WD Lo function and better frame and interior.... I will be seriously looking. Just hoping they will offer the Aisin in a 3/4 ton or 1 ton srw configuration.
