6.7 regen

I'm just wondering about the regen in a 12 6.7l fx4. Read in the diesel manual that you can turn on the regen when parked. I asked the dealer about this and they had no clue. My concern is in winter I basically idle about 8hrs a day and can't always drive to clean the exhaust. I'm fairly new with diesels and if anyone can clear up the truth to this or can offer a mod that will better my situation.
Thanks.

I don't see how being parked will allow it to be hot enough to regen.

From what I understand it's an option in the lariat and KR. 2012. When activated it raises the rpm to 1800-2200 do not park near other vehicles or over flammable substrates.

You can do it in the Chassis Cabs, but not the pickups.

Dealers can trigger a regen while parked, But it's not an option for the avg driver.

Why do you need to idle for 8 hours?? I'm just curious. Idling for any length of time is hard on any engine

I basically work in my truck all day in the oil field. Winter time my computer and myself will freeze if I don't.
