Stock truck oil change question

Somemone please tell me how the EGR on a stock truck gets diesel into the oil. I did my first oil change and was shocked how the oil smelled like diesel.

BTW, I have now deleted just curious how it caused this.

Thanks

Its from the blow by of the pistons rings. When they are at cold idle the cylinders wet down and a little fuel gets by.

Break in should help with that, shouldnt it? Continue to monitor after oil change.

I don't think it will be much better after break in. These motors are very tight to start with. Remember a gas motor has much less compression than a diesel. A top fuel dragsters oil is loaded with fuel after just a few minutes of idle and 4 seconds of full throttle. Diesel in the oil is part of the game. BTW it is normal.
