Edge Insight...just a heads-up

All, Thought I would share this with you...

Just picked up my truck from the dealer, I have an Edge Insight gauge installed on my truck.(see link below) I spent half an hour trying to convince the service rep and the mech that the unit is not a tuner!!! The mechanic told me that when he plugged his scanner in that it gave him a "vin # mismatch" warning, says that is typically what comes up when a truck has been tuned. After bringing up the edge website on my phone and letting him read the info, and letting him play with the gauge attempting to find the tuning parameters, he finally believed me that it wasn't a tuner. Anyone else have this problem? I might be calling edge on monday to find out why the truck sees this as a tuner.

If edge would take the frigging power level indicator of the straight monitors We wouldn't be so prone to pull them off the truck before taking the truck in.

I asked them to dump the stupid power display t and give us another PID option on that part of the screen

on a side note I took pictures of my EOT and ECT on my Edge and it had a lot to do with my convincing them the delta's were to far off

My 06 left no vin mismatch issue and I can't imagine yours should either? post back when Edge responds

Just sent edge an email, we will see if they even reply back! I also sent an email to a friend in Colorado, he used to be a ford mechanic...see what he has to say about it.

I had the same problem when I took mine in for warranty work. Had to tell them to go online and search up the info on the Insight. They finally went ahead with the repair.

My dealer has not said one word about mine, and I don't hide or remove it.
So maybe it's just a dealer awareness issue.
If your dealer knows that Edge makes the Insight as well as the Evolution, they can quickly look at it and see the difference.
