Mine is stock and will get 18-19.5 mpg (hand calculated) on highway according to speed. Around town it drops to about 14-15 mpgs. I have over 65K miles now and it has been consistent.

I actually just finished doing some averages with mpg's. Kinda weird I just read this post! After a 3 tank average I hand calculated 19.01. This is all Pensacola, Fl driving, if anybody has been here they they know what I mean when I say its mostly city with some stretches of open road mixed in. There are stop lights at least every 1/4 around this whole city it seems.
The newness of mashing the pedal has finally wore of a little! Last average was about 16.5 mpg! I will also throw in there that the dash mpg meter seems to be pretty accurate, within a few tenths +/-. My truck is all stock except for the S&B CAI. Hope this info helps! Hills will drop your MPG as will head wind. On the flats, I can see 20-20.7mpg on my average - lie o meter - which has been within .3-.5 mpg of hand calculated. In town driving with some drive thrus/etc - I am at 15.6-16.4 hand calculated. My one tank best is 18.8mpg traveling over 640 miles on one tank - through PA, WVA, VA, NC and into SC.
I feel that if I filled up, just ran flat ground, I could average 20mpg on a tank. But, stop n go, heavy foot, speed, hills take ya down. So, real world I think you'll see 15.5-19 depending on use. Towing - I haven't towed for an entire tank. In towing 7,000# ~100 miles I was around 12-13 range avg. |

Worst was 11.6 and best was 19.2. Average is 16.6 over the last 12,700 miles. Crew cab shortbed 4x4 all stock. Truck has 35,000 miles on it.
