Leer XL cap for 11+ Superduty doesn't fit

Went to pick up my new cap.

I was all doey eye'd looking at it on the forklift, then they set it on the truck.

First off, for those who don't know, this cap fits down over the side of the bed, sort of cupping the bed top.

So anyway, there are huge gaps between the cap and bed. Talking I can fit my big knobby fingers up in there. In one place my thumb fits in nearly to the knuckle. That's 1/2" to 3/4" for fingers and 1" for a thumb.

Needless to say, I did not accept delivery.

Leer said they sell tons of these and have never had this problem, but they will take it back to the factory and check it out and repair or replace it.

So my question is to those of you with leer XL caps: how do they fit?

Here's some crappy low res pics, will try to get the high res.

Looks to me like a crappy install.

They all fit like that if you just set them on the truck & clamp them down. You have to set them on hte bed & move them around A LOT to get the gabs right, keep everything sealed, & so the rear door will work properly.

It's not the install. The front was lined up perfectly and the cap was centered. The gap was huge, like 1.25" too wide of a cap where it meets the bed in the front. No way to 'pull' the cap in where it was bulged.

Leer took it back and is going to inspect it.

I swapped my Leer topper from a 2006 to a 2012. The only problem I had was the back glass door didn't close because the tailgate had the pull-out step. I just trimmed the metal off the bottom until it closed.
