Switched power outlet?

I have a dash camera on my truck and have it plugged into the 12v outlet on the dash. The camera turns on when power is applied and off when power is removed. However, the 12v outlet always has power to it. It never turns off even with everything off and the key out. Where do I find power that is switched with the key? My other option is to let it record all night long. If I unplug it, I sometimes forget to plug it back in.

You can grab this at the fuse box or right at the harness under the dash. You will see a grey plastic piece hovering over a bunch of thick gauge wires. Test with a meter or probe. Fuse the wire.

Use one of the Upfitter Switches as the power source and wire it to a universal cigarette lighter/power point behind the dash. I just did this with a Garmin GPS installation on my 06, and it works exactly as you are wanting.

I've also been told there is switched power to the mirror as well. That would be a cleaner install, will have to look into that.
