Do you think this will work?
So It was pretty slim pickin's when I got my 2011. There were still a good amount around, but I specifically wanted 2011, 250, Gray, 6FT bed, Crew Cab, and under $47ish.
As you can imagine, it didnt leave much to pick from. I found a nice one though for $41, with a good bit of what I wanted. Fx4, running boards, SOTF, and a few other small items. It however did NOT have the upfitter switches, cab lights, fog lights, remote start, or a decent heat/ac unit. I had read up on the ability to add some of those afterwords, so I was not worried. I had the dealer install the remote start, (it was pre wired) I installed the upfitter switches, (they are pre wired) and I just ordered the cab lights, and fog lights, (which are both pre wired) Dont get me wrong, I know they are not "PRE WIRED" as in plug and play, but they are wired enough to save half the labor or more. I have never seen a vehicle that comes with all these options, pre wired for future use. It got me thinking. I had taken my dash apart to paint, it, and noticed just how easy the Heat/AC unit was to remove. So my question is. If the front portion of the AC unit comes out so easy, do you think I could get one that has all the options and just swap it out? Like something were I can actually set the temp, and not have a turn nob... etc? I have seen the standard ones on ebay, (the one I have) for $75, but nothing else... Just wanted to get some input. Do you think If I just installed the control panel, I would have the full options of a lariat, KR, etc...? Or what else would I need to get? |

I think some of this might be programmed into the BCM/GEM modules. or alteast it used to be. In the older trucks you had to re-program the modules for it.
you might get lucky with plug and play but for anything else I believe the can address needs to be programmed if you replace it. Some of the door locks and rear window defoggers on the GMs need to be programmed. |

In the past and I'm sure it's not much different now, but you usually needed a donor vehicle if you wanted to put in the EATC system. There are motors and sensors and a lot of wiring that's needed to convert the system to electronic.

I kinda thought If nothing else there would need to be a temp sensor somewhere. I wonder If this is a part dealers may keep in stock. Maybe buy it and try it in the Parkin lot. It only takes 3 minutes to get the dash out...
