Wastegate Problem

When between 2nd or 3rd gear I get on the throttle and back off abruptly I noticed what sounds like the waste gate instantly dumping the boost pressure. It used to sound more like a flutter when i did the same procedure but now its similar to the sound of pulling an air line off of an air compressor. Its a sudden splurt of air thats fairly loud with the windows down. I have no idea how long the trucks been doing it since its just gotten to the point where I can have the windows down. Now that I know what to listen for I can hear it with the windows up as well. Any ideas????

It will do it every single time on an up hill at 20 mph when in 3 gear while quickly excelerating and then backing off...

Theres been several threads on this. I forgot the term for it, but it is basically just the turbo spooling down. I think it sounds kinda cool

Yes it has always made a noise on despool however its no longer a flutter like im used to...Its now just a single surge of air all at once...Sounds like air breaks releasing
