I got JACKED! (Tailgate)

Well, Good Friday was not so "Good" for me. Woke up to head to the lake Friday morning and notice that my tailgate was gone.

It was stolen while the truck was sitting in my front driveway. I got home Thursday night around 11pm and then I walked outside Friday morning around 8am.

Tailgate had all the goodies on it too (Camera/Step).

Its Oxford White.

If anyone in the Houston/Dallas/SE Texas/Sulphur area comes across one thats being sold, hit me up. Im going to get another one, but will still give a finders fee ($100-$200) if someone finds it.

It does have a sticker on it from the dealership. (picture below) to help identify it (it the dumb *** that stole it leaves it on there). Number on the sticker is SS 594892.

Thanks for the help guys.

Funny thing is... it was locked! I guess they just punched it with a screw driver like the door handles.

I assume insurance is not going to pay for a new one and probably go "used" or "refurbished".

Definitely going to have to do something else. I also saw that you can bolt the support cables and some guys have made a make shift lock with a hose clamp. I guess anything to make it more difficult.

I appreciate it. Im going to see what insurance says. And any more leads on oxford white tailgates with steps and cameras would be greatly appreciated. I know it will be next to impossible to find it, but I guess it makes me feel better if I try.

That one in Austin is cheap. You probably won't find a better deal. I am near Austin and if you need me to look at it let me know. For that price you can get the camera tailgate lock and install it yourself.

And that is a shipped price, probably drop it for a local. I actually thought about buying it for a spare for the price he is asking.

I would be leery to buy any used tailgate. You might be buying a stolen tailgate from a fellow .org! lol

That one for $750 near Dallas has the step...no brainer.

My wife thinks I am nuts as I have two outdoor cameras that watch my truck 24x7 and have Jimmy Jammer's all round. Plus removed the drivers side key lock and all lock rods. Tailgate clamped on pass side. Helps me sleep better.
