Question for those who have installed a mesh grille
thinking about buying a primed surround and a mesh insert. Will an insert fit in the primed surround without using any parts of my existing grille or do i need to reuse the inner structure of my chrome one? I would like to keep my chrome grille intact and try to ebay it. I looked up a few brands RBP, Trex, and both of those look like I need some kind of inner plastic to hold the mesh insert. Thanks,

My T-rex required the inner piece to be cut and used for most of the mounting points.
Only "salvageable" parts would be the surround, bars, "c's" and oval. Aren't the base model's grilles one piece? If they are paintable, you could call the company for the grille you want to see if they can be cut in a manner to accommodate proper fitment of their grille.
