Break In Attempt

Luckily they didn't get in but still a hassle! Anyone know how much handles are costing these days?

I took my locks out and rods out of my doors. Used the jimmer jammer plates and lock plugs. I figure if they punch out the door they will not find the rods either. Now the only way in is break the window without using keyless entry or key fob

Great idea! Do you have pics of the plugs installed?

I would LOVE to disconnect the rods from my door, but, I guess I'm too chicken. If the battery goes dead, your screwed! My truck stays parked in my garage, so my battery is more likely to go dead than someone breaking into it. I will install the jimmy jammers though. It really sucks that there are low life's out there that won't work for there own stuff.

The photos of this setup are actually on the jimmy jammer website its called a punch plug. I got all the parts from az trucks. You will need to call them.

As for the dead battery concern, i don't loose sleep over it. On all my other trucks, the doors would open, but starter would not turn over the motor when the battery was dead.

My wife thought i was nuts taking a brand new truck apart and i must admit that taking the door panels apart made me nervous, buts its real easy. While i was there i slipped in some new front door speakers.

The whole setup took me about 3hrs to do on all the doors. One piece of caution is to have a helper nearby when you take the last bolt out of the outside door handle as i dropped mine on the driveway which scratched it some.

Overall peice of mind....

Has anyone put on a rear door handle that has no key hole?

Sorry to hear that especially on a brand new truck! That's happened to mine as well. I still haven't replaced the door handle, so I'm hoping that someone has part numbers or info for the back handles.
