wax remover
I guess I am not too observant. After driving the truck for four months it took someone else to point out to me what a poor job they did of waxing my truck. There is many places where they didn't get the wax wiped off the plastic. I tried, unsuccessfully, to wipe it off with water and a cloth. Now that it has been drawn to my attention, it looks terrible - especially on the black plastic. I am wondering if anyone knows how dried on wax can be easily removed from plastic?

Either that or the "renew" type of stuff they make for plastic automotive molding.

Paint thinner or acetone on the plastic only will give it a new surface and I'd follow up with some "Bumper Black" to re-saturate the color. The plastic treatments like Bumper Black will only cover up the wax, you have to get it off first. I used to work at a body shop and that's what we did. Works great. Also, take an old tooth brush to the cracks around the plastic to get the wax out. Good luck. If you go with Acetone, don't get it on your paint. Don't use Lacquer Thinner.

Wipe peanut butter on it and then buff it out, sounds crazy I know but it has worked for me. Just make sure to get creamy not crunchy peanut butter.
