Anyone successfully added cruise control?

So I spoke with the parts guy at the local dealership about adding cruise to one of our 2011 F250s. I was not sure if aftermarket was the right way to go so I decided to order the steering wheel(with the cruise option/buttons). Despite the dealer letting me know they have tried the new steering wheel and flash on some other Fords with a 50:50 chance of it working. Well our truck didn't take the flash and I'm now $464 into a steering wheel/labor. The service manager says Ford won't tell them why it doesn't work. Any insight into this mystery?

And yes I know we should have ordered the truck with cruise but all 3 were stripped down work trucks and one just happen NOT to have cruise.

thanks

Are you sure the wiring harness after the steering wheel is populated for the Cruise functions? It seems that I have seen some trucks come wired for some functions, and others are not. To me, this could be the only reason that the cruise will not work after a flash to the "with cruise" software.

Well, that has crossed my mind but my only reference is Alldata and they don't have much for it being so new. I need to take some time one afternoon and look under the knee bolster of the no cruise truck and one with it, might can go from there. Seems like the techs at the dealer would be aware of this though. thanks

Going to bump this back up. I can't tell anything with the wiring harnesses. Without cutting them apart anyway.

This may seem like a really stupid question, but have you checked the fuse? Incase because it wasn't equipped there was no fuse installed.
