oil deep stick

Mine oil deep stick is hard to be read.Anybody have that problem and if yes what did you do?I just change the oil and I can't for sure where is the oil mark on the deep stick.

HUH? Try better lighting,at least be between the high and low marks

Look at both the front and back side of the dipstick, make sure they are at the same level, the wipe off the face with the marks, then look at the back for referance to where the mark is.

You will find that it is much easier to read the dipstick first thing in the morning after it has sat overnight. One chance is all you get because once you pull the dipstick and try it again oil in the tube confuses the reading. Someone suggested pulling the dipstick up about 2 inches and waiting 10 seconds or so for the oil to drain off but that didn't help me. I cross hatched both sides of the dipstick and that made it easier. Remember the manual says to read either side of the dipstick and it is always higher on one side than the other.

We have a Trans dip stick like this at work on one of the Log handler,the tube is real long and has a Bend in it,The Dip stick is around 6' No joke,the guys more often than not look at the wrong side,that being the side thats rubbing on the tube and get oil were it really isn't...

like said look at both sides of the dip stick and go with the low side,it will be the correct side...

far as seeing the oil on the stick it's self... Flat black paint will make a huge difference,and after a few oil changes the oil will not be clear even after just being changes....You never get 100% of the old Oil out ,unless you rebuild the motor LOL

the old oil will tint the new oil to a point you can see it...just put the correct amount in it and run the motor,maybe check it the next day after work....

Mine is hard to read as well... I just "deep" it a few times to be sure!
