Ridiculous Fuel Mileage

No not me, But I have spoken to a guy who sears with DPF delete and the tuner he is running, Black Max , I think

He gets 40.6 MPG
I told him maybe yes on instant fuel mileage while he is coasting.
He says no straight driving and he gets around 20 mpg towing

Anyone ever hear of this kind of stuff?

I tried the delete business with last truck and was happy just to get 2 mpg more and said I would not do the delete with this one but dang if he were to be telling the truth,,,,,

I'm gonna say maybe at 35-40 mph on a flat road, but absolutely no way with normal driving. That's better than a Cummins 4BT and they've got 4 cylinders less than him.

I guess that was backwards...haha duh. Anyways there is no way. Im not deleted but am tuned and I can't even get more than 14-15

Are you sure he wasn't talking kilometers per mile?
1kilometer=.621371192 miles

40.6km/gal=25.23mpg
20km/g=12.43mpg

These numbers for mpg would be about right after dpf delete, at least in my head that sounds right

Look at it this way, a VW Jetta Diesel, claims 45mpg highway. It is less than half the weight, half the motor size, and twice as aerodynamic. I have a hard time believing that 30mpg is even achievable with a truck this size!

I believe you could get those kinda Numbers But not on just deletes and Diesel...

I've read were one guy was doing the hyper mile with CNG and got some really crazy MPG in one of the Diesel challenges... can't remember the exact MPG right now....

im deleted with a minimaxx and the mpg on my dash was reading rediculous numbers like he is claiming but the actual hand calculated mileage was more like 17. (im a 6.4 guy)
