Woops
She don't run so good on gasoline. I could never understand how someone could be so stupid as to put gasoline in their diesel truck. Now I know.

![]() I almost did the opposite when I drove my dad's yota. Diesel must be habit for me, only been pumping it for the last 3 years and nothing else. |

I thought I put diesel in but 3 miles down the road I noticed the truck kinda pinging - I phoned the card lock and asked what pump #5 was. They told me it was dyed gasoline - pump #4 is dyed diesel. I still don't know how I made the mistake as I remember checking and double checking that i was selecting the right pump. I am guessing that one side of the pump was dyed diesel and the other side dyed gasoline
or maybe it said marked fuel on the pump and I assumed marked diesel fuel - again

I'm off tommorrow and start day shift Saturday i'm gonna Check it and make sure ! I run Wheel Loaders, Dozer, backhoe, and Three different type Log handlers that we unload Pulpwood trucks with,I don't use much gas LOL so i will check saturday to be sure... I know wheel Loaders don't run to Good on Gas ,LOL One of the Greenhorns Fueled up a Brand new loader with Gas HAHAHA He never heard the end of it :~) Last edited by Lead Foot; 07-07-2011 at 08:07 PM. |

Only damage was to my pride - After I realized what I did I drove about a mile down the road to a friends place. I just put a hose onto the outlet of the engine mounted fuel filter, turned the key on and pumped the gasoline from my truck into my wife's car and friends pick up. (had to turn the key off and on several times as each time you turn it on it only pumps for about 10 or 15 seconds) Then I poured a jerry can of diesel into the truck, primed the lines with the diesel before reconnecting the hose to the fuel filter and was back in business. Fortunately I had only put about 6 gallons of gasoline in the tank - I always fuel up at home but I was planning on dropping the truck off at the dealership to get the new turbo installed and didn't want to leave it there without adequate fuel. Turned out they didn't have all the hardware to do the turbo install anyway.

Are you running dyed diesel in your new truck? Is the offroad diesel the same as it used to be are is it the same as hwy diesel with a little color added to catch people running it on the hwy?

Theres a Million Dollar Question As Most know your Not supposed to run Off-Road fuel on Road, due to the Tax difference.... So this post makes less and less sense to me.... I've read the Fine was ,$5,000 some say more The dye has zero effect on the truck, and the fuel is the same as on Road fuel....I Guess at this point all that matters is Home Boyz truck is OK and i'm glad for that! |
