See this thread:

Installing a 2nd USB Port

It mentions getting a cable from ford I just got a normal cable USB mini B to standard Ac able to and a female to female standard A from Fry's. Plugged it in, made sure that it recognized the device on the USB2 port, and then cable tied it to the preexisting USB cable so that it wouldn't work it's way out.

Total time: 5 minutes

Note. Take a look at that original cable as I'm going off memory that its a USB mini B.

Once you get every thing hooked up, from media button you should then have USB2 in addition to USB. You can also select it via voice by saying "USB 2"

You only have usb1 or usb2 available, not both as I recently discovered when I tried to plug in a second usb flash drive. The system would only recognize one usb port at a time.

I have a stick in my glove box with tunes on it and my Iphone plugged into the dash outlet. If I say "USB" it switches to the Iphone and if I say 'USB2" it switches to the stick.

Tastes Great. Lasts a long time...

Interesting. I only tried to switch via the radio controls. I'll try with the voice recognition.

On Edit: Sure as sh!t that worked!

Have you tested your new Ford cable using other equipment, like a PC and camera and not just using the SYNC module? The Ford cable is just a standard Mini-USB cable with a female end instead of male on the non-mini side.
