Got the official word from Ford today

My new truck has been clanging away since the day I drove it off the lot. Ford says they are aware of the problem and I just have to wait for engineering to come up with a fix. The clanging is getting worse. I used it on the weekend to pull my 5th wheel out to the lake. It was clanging away so bad that I have decided to park the POS.

Jeez man, get a new truck like i did! That sucks, I would be so pissed! Don't give up on the truck. It's really a great truck, you just have to get past a few stupid things associated with first year engines and what not.

I do hope Ford is offering assistance. What do they say is causing the clanging?

No assistance being offered. I received a phone call from Ford Customer Assistance. It was this individual that told me that they had contacted engineering and the word was that I was going to have to wait. The service manager was not in today so I will call my dealer again tomorrow to try to find out a little more. I believe the clanging to be associated with the wastegate but I will try to confirm more tomorrow. As far as I am concerned driving the truck as it is, is embarrassing and stressful. So for now I will park the King Ranch and drive the old beater. I wonder how long engineering will take to come up with a fix?

Damn was hoping you would have found out a fix by now! Mine still does it and seems to be getting worse also.. I dont understand why this is such a difficult issue for Ford to figure out? I know what you mean its more of a embarrassment than anything
