7 MPG drop during regen?
The other day I notice the regen message come on so I reset the instant milleage and set the cruise at 68mph and got 12.7 mpg over the cycle. When it was over I turned around and headed back got back on the freeway heading same direction reset the instant mileage set cruise and got 19.9 over the same stretch. Can someone check this on your truck and see if its the same. Thanks

That sounds about right. I usually notice about a 6 mpg drop during regen's on the highway.

I take it this is because the mileage was just reset? Say you average 15 mpg and had 100 miles on then it started to regen would it still drop your mileage 7 mpg or is this because the mileage was just reset? or does regen drop your mileage per tank roughly 7 mpg?

I'd like to know how you're getting 19.9. I've never seen my truck get near that. I average 14.1 with a mix of city and highway. My highway trips never go over 17.something. The hype over great mileage in these trucks was ridiculous, only to be let down again. It is better than my 6.4 was but not by much. My tuned 6.0 got better mileage running 37's than my 6.4 or 6.7 does in stock trim. Quite the letdown. Oh well.

Durning regen mine drops down from 17 to 10.
Just did a round trip from Coral Springs, FL to Clemmons, NC. 1500 miles averaged 80 mph and hand calculated 16.2 mpg. I'll take that when I was running in the upper 80's a lot. If you set cruise between 45 to 55 mph the display will stay at 20 mpg. I don't have time to do that test for hand calculated results. |
