Check Coolant Additive

At 48,800 miles, the check coolant additive light came on. I pulled into the nearest dealer to get it out of the way. We checked the coolant, first time for the dealer tech guy. The test works like...if the color is right (orange) on the first test, you're good. My first test was closer to brown which moved us to the second test, which passed. If the second test fails, you move to changing the coolant. I have been tempted to just...push the button and reset the coolant condition. With 2 water cooling systems, new metals...it might be a good idea to not just...push the reset button!!

I did push the button and reset mine at 13,000 miles. But I did that knowing that it was low mileage and I would be in for a Oil change at 15,000 and would get the dealer to check the coolant while servicing everything else.

I stopped into local dealer and they never heard of having to check the coolant, and sent me on my way. Does anyone have the part number for the test strips??
