So in my Gmail I had the following ad at the top: "Sierra HD Official Site - Offers a 6.6L Duramax V8, the Most - Powerful Diesel in an HD Pickup."
So, I decided to click through to the GMC page, where it had the following: "Sierra HD's available Duramax Diesel engine is a force to be reckoned with 397 HP and 765 lb. ft of torque. In fact, that makes the Sierra Heavy Duty the most powerful GMC HD pickup ever."
If you read carefully, they're not saying it's the most powerful diesel in a HD pickup - just that it's the most powerful GMC HD pickup. Seems like the marketing folks updated the website, but not their Google Ads.
I get the same add on my Gmail banners. I always click to the next ad just to avoid having to look at it. I thought the same thing though; that it's false advertisement. Then I thought, well, they're saying the most powerful in an HD pickup, and HD is their thing. I dont know.
It's the headline of their ad (which convinces people to click on it), that's potentially deceptive: "Sierra HD Official Site - Offers a 6.6L Duramax V8, the Most - Powerful Diesel in an HD Pickup."
I guess it depends on if you'd consider a Ford or Dodge "an HD Pickup".
Yeap I Knew that :~),They went on to say Camery was #1 selling car,That while it wasn't really Pretty ,It was VERY dependable and Got Great gas mileage...and That Is True also!
Their use of HD is GMC to HD as Ford to Superduty. However, HD standing for Heavy Duty is rather generic and can be construed as deceptive. Then again, none of these trucks are truly classified as HD, they're LD. The 450 - 650's are MD I believe?
And there ya have it,one damn Fraudulent Claim after the next LOL Whens it gonna Stop?
First they Claim to have the Most Horse power and Torque, now they have a HD Thats actualy a HD thats a LD HAHAHA
I agree with ya i have Thought several time to myself that they Where Miss usen the Term Heavy Duty ,Cause like You stated and i already knew, the 450-650 are MD How the heck they Figure a 2500 which is 3/4 ton truck is HD ?
only way you could even think a 2500 was heavy duty was if you compaired it to a 1/2 ton But then again The term would be used Incorrectly....Per 450-650 being MD trucks.
It don't really matter to me what they Call em I'm waiting for the 2012 F350 C/C S/B In Flame Blue :~) All Black Interior Yea Baby!
