Hitch Adapter

Just wondering if these trucks are supposed to come with a hitch adapter sleve that changes it from a 2.5" to 2". My dad's truck came with one under the rear seat and mine didn't. I asked the dealership and they said it was an accessory and I would have to buy one.

Mine didn't come with one unless I just haven't seen it. I already had one from a previous that worked. I bought it at the dealer and it was like $60 which is ridiculous but you gotta have it. There are some cheaper one but you have to make sure it will fit. I have heard of a lot of reducers that would not fit in the hole.

My dads came with one on the hitch from ford.

My truck didn't come with one either,I ordered a 2 1/2 ball mount and the adapter to use my winch mount.

Mine came with one and a pin holding it in.

So it sounds like it may be a little hit or miss on whether they are already on the trucks or not. I am sure if I had known to ask for one when I was buying it they would just grab one off another truck on the lot. An 8" piece of quarter inch thick 2.5" x 2.5" is less than $5 so its pretty cruddy that ford wants to sell me one for $50.

Not sure it is a hit or miss...unless it's up to the dealer. My truck came with a reducer in place with a pin and the saleman went out of his way to point it out. He didn't go out of his way to say it was a comp item...just that it was there because of the 2.5" receiver...which leads me to ask if those who didn't get the reducer didn't select one or more towing options?

Mine did not come with one and I talked to customer service about it and they said so sorry but they do not come with one!

Kind of pisses me off that some get them and others do not. I too have the 2.5" w/ 11,500 GVW Package.
