speed limiter???

soooo just wondering if all the new 11 f350 diesels have a governor on them... mine wont go to 160... it tops out between 155 and about 158?? just wondering if there is a way to get rid of it or do i need aftermarket programming>> I remember back in 1998 in my old mustang it was governerd too but i got a superchip installed and it corrected that... i drive lots of highway kms everyday to work and back so i like to keep the pedal down sometimes lol..

When I was first reading I thought you were talking about miles...... Got a little worried about your morning commute.

When I first got my '08 I knew they they had speed limiters set on them. Mine cut out around the same speed as your '11. Just find a good tuner and you can change it. Got into a pissing match on a four lane heading west. Guy was quite stunned when I put her to the boards and lost him at 180kms. Thing that got me smiling!!! The truck was still pulling hard at that speed. Don't do that to much though! It is not like these things handle like a gokart that is 2" off the ground. Play safe and have fun!

I'll bet the rating doesn't contemplate top speed racing...put me in a Nascar and I'll probably only worry about stuff to hit and not my car coming apart as it tumbles...
