Need help on 2011 powerstroke diesel mods.
I've heard about programmers, but it seems like nobody has a definite answer as to who's the best to buy. Maybe this new Powerstroke diesel is too complex for these backyard mechanics/tuners to figure out. I know from building & racing cars for the past 2 decades, everyone thinks theyre a tuner, but fall on their face when it's time to run what they brung, so some real info of what you guys have physically witnessed is what matters most. Also I'd like to hear about what's the best intake set-up & exhaust to get for my new F250, as well as any tricks/tips for it.
Much appreciated! |

Programming is limited right now to a couple. H&S has one out, but it doesn't tune the transmission, I think there may be some other "canned" tunes out also but I'm not sure. If you're desperate to tune, then get the H&S, but Spartan is going to release their's any day now (hopefully) and I think they are the way to go.
As far as exhaust goes, unless you get a tuner with it, then you can only do a DPF back exhaust, and IMO, they don't improve anything. Intake: Go with the AFE Stage II, but you may check out Banks intake. They claim to be better than the others. |

After almost 20 years of being a heavy modder on trucks, Vipers, & Vettes, I've wasted hundreds of thousands on the hyped up BS claims from vendors. I can show everyone here how to get 100MPG if you send me $1,000 bucks. Little free secret, never touch the gas pedal, you'll arrive @ your destination eventually. Viola! See, I'm a tuner! All you guys now owe me!

Thats what I feel all the guys that went with the H&S did. Settled.

I kinda felt that way after reading some posts on here.
Not sure why these tuners are dragging their asses in this great Obama economy, by not putting out a good tuner? I mean, after being around thousands of cars & trucks over the past 2 decades, it's not rocket science to create a good tune for the motor & trans on any vehicle! ![]() Maybe they need to spend a little less time @ Happy Hour, and quite possibly think there might be a few people out there with the new PowerStroke that would lay down some cash, and help with growing the tuners bank account a little

Would you rather a company rush a product to the market without thorough testing, you buy it, install it, then it blows up your mommas new truck?? I bet you'd be the first person on here bashing a well respected company saying "they blew your motor" with their ****ty tuner. I'd much rather wait until all the bugs are worked out and have much less headache post-install. Also, do you really feel your 6.7 is that under powered?? Honestly?? Did you own a 2008-2010 model F250 that was actually your truck? If all these backyard diesel monkeys are taking too long for your liking, why don't you just tune that ***** yourself Mr. Race Car Man? Spartan's new tune will be out soon enough. It will be the best on the market and they will be able to back it up too. Yes, there will most likely be "bugs" to work out even after extensive testing and QC, but you can bet your *** that these "*** dragging shade tree boys" will answer the phone when you call and make sure your **** is fixed correctly. Go talk your **** somewhere else. |

Here's bigmike in Maui....looks like he's having a little happy hour time himself instead of working on his new 2011 Scorpion tune software.

"This stuff isn't as simple as tuning your TiVo to record your Jerry Springer re-runs while your out cruising Wal-mart parking lot for transexual hookers. "
