DEF fluid warning light

Got in truck today DEf warning light came on saying 700 miles to empty, only been 2000 miles since last oil change and fill up, went to dealer and told them to fill it up and see what happens, only took 2 gal's. they called ford and they said to reflash it, already had the 400-800 flash theres another new flash out not sure what all it does but it shifts better now than it ever has.

Wonder if there is a tsb for this.

Probably a dumb question, but what is a tsb?

TSP = Technical Service Bulletin

I'd find it hard to find that there would be another ECU software version so soon. My guess is that the re-flash would just reset everything in the ECU.

well they did the 400-800 when it came out and i asked if it was the same they said no, so thats all i know other than i saw part of it and it did say to correct issues with shifting along with some others I didnt read

There was a TSB for a transmission issue that came out after the 400/800 flash. It was sometime in late November or early December I believe. The main thing addressed with the flash was the transmission shifting issues.

No issues

I bought my KR in April and had the 400/800 flash in September. I was informed that the flash included the transmission and noticed smother shifting at that time. I haven't had any shifting issues since the flash in September and I haven't been notified of any need to return to the dealership to be flashed again.

I noted at http://www.mycarstats.com/reports/fo...omplaints.aspx that the date, service bulletin number and NHTSA item number is the same for both the 400/800 flash and the transmission issue. I think I probably got both in September.

I'm fairly certain that there was a flash that came out after the 400/800 flash that targeted transmission issues. I'll do some digging and get the details.
