Just wondering about this, do any of you hear strange sounds coming from the engine compartment for no rhyme or reason? I hope I am not cracking up but my truck could be sitting all night and I’ll get up in the morning walk by it and hear a sound almost like an actuator opening and closing? I was changing the oil the other day and I was on a step ladder checking the dipstick and I heard it! It was almost like a door being suctioned closed on the top of the engine. It was a little startling , anyone know what this is?

No I don't leave the keys in the ignition. I am actually surprised no one else has heard this!

it's the def system checking itself . will do it with the key off . perfeclty normal operation

I have heard the same noise coming from my 04 6.0, not sure what it is either.

...mine talked to me the other day, I thought I was just hearing voices...

Mine will make noises like it shutting the Variable Vane Turbo on my 6.4. Sounds like a servo moving.
