Was I Just Imagining This.... Tow/Haul Mode?

I thought the last time I had my trailer hooked up the truck/transmission stayed in Tow/Haul mode during shutdowns and restarts.

The last time I had the trailer hooked up it did not.

I could have sworn that the truck knew the tailer was still connected and kept the Tow/Haul on. Must be loosing my mind!

You must be thinking of something else. My truck requires the tow switch each time I start the engine. It was this way before and after the reflash.

Before the reflash, I had to engage the "gear indicator" in the disply on every start. Since the reflash the display remembers the last setting. Maybe you are thinking about this??

I must have been... I checked with my friend who has one as well that tows and he hasn't seen this either.

Maybe because the truck is so quite I thought it was off.

I must not have the reflash then. Because the only way I see the gear indicatior is if I hit the plus button on the shifter.

Might have to bring it in for the reflash.

Yep, you want the reflash. Not much seat of the pants power increase but you will love what they did with the transmission!!!

Minds are over rated, life is better since I let mine go... I transferred ALL decisions to an extremity using the Tiger Wood/ Brett Favre method...

OK I WASN'T IMAGINING THINGS!!!!

I have finally figured it out. The "Tow Haul" mode will engaged after shutting down the engine and starting it back up. I know I wasn't crazy!

This is what I learned...

The "Tow Haul" will come on automatically with engine start as long as it was in T/H mode at shut down and either the Parking or Head Lights are on, Hazard Lights are on or the door is left open. Somehow the T/H mode is getting power or sensing from the truck's lights. It has nothing to to do with a trailer being plugged in, it does it with and without a trailer connected.

Give this a try and let me know if my truck is not the only one that does this.

I've noticed that my tow haul stays sometime, and had wondered why. I frequently back in, unhook trailer and drive off. While the truck may be shut off when i do this, the door is frequenty left open. Hmmm?

That's crazy. Twice before I shut off my truck and started again, after driving for a minute realized I forgot to turn T/H back on and looked down and it was already on.
I'll give those a shot and see what happens, thanks for the tip.
