Time to retire the 2000

I will be in the market for a new daily driver soon and am considering the new SD. I have driven the KR and Lariat, which seem to be popular, but can't justify $55k+, and am more interested in a 2x4 XL with options.

I would like to hear from the more basic owners about your experiences; how is the truck to live with daily? Ride compared to a 4x4? Mileage? Vinyl seat comfort?

One final thing; though cheaper, even a basic work truck costs as much as a nice Mustang GT, and that would be cool to have, but would rather live with the truck every day.

I have a 2011 XL 4x4 with the power group option. Cloth seats, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry and rubber floors. My truck rides great and is quiet on the inside. I own a pressure washing business so the rubber floors are great.

I avg 17mpg thats cty/hwy combined.

Good to know info. I'm working in Afghanistan and saw your exact truck in Bagram. I was probably the only one there excited to see an 11', and the only one who knew what it was. Does your's have those crazy looking vent tips on the exhaust for regen cooling? The one over here had what looked like a stock 6.0 exhaust system. Another cool things; being an export truck the dash was all metric and the door plate was half written in Arabic.

How many miles do you have on it and any major/minor issues that I should be aware of?

Truck you saw probably didnt have all the emissions junk on it since it wasnt in the USA, but I know if your gonna "use" the truck why pay for creature comforts. Leaves more in the budget for upgrades anyway

4500 miles, no problems so far. Only thing I have to do is put some rims on it and I'm good to go. I have owned a few top of the line trucks but I always hated working out of them or hunting with them. With this truck I have no worries and love it.

Where in GA do you live? I have a set of factory 18's off an 06 that would fit your truck. PM me for details.

Nice truck, thought it was a KR (color threw me off). For what it would take to get mine into that kind of shape I could buy the 2011 for cash. Nope, DPF and Cat still intact. Maybe they don't care about burning things up in the desert?

I don't know much about the "XL" but the one I saw has the vinyl seats and I was very surprise at the good quality and the looks of it
